    Pride in ones work

People,In the last 3 months our works crew has been stuck in town doing development work rather than REAL roadworks.
Last week the kerb people came to town to kerb a couple of jobs, today the Hotmix people came and did their work.We have also constructed a new hockey field that is starting to turn green.
Great to see the icing going on the cake.
The Industrial unit, number 1 of 3 to be built by the Shire to lease out to bussiness.

The Industrial Unit was a walk in the park, however the lane thru the old peoples home was the toughest job I have tackled, tight working room, plus an inverted drain thru the centre of the road. The road is 5.35m wide at its widest point,my cutting edge is 4.2m long. The 2 tight bends were er very tight.Believe it or not a CAT 12M with 14 foot blade can get around them cutting the centre out

The rear lane that will get spray seal before Xmas along with the Bowling club carpark that I havent completed yet.

The Hockey pitch getting seeded with chopped runners a few weeks back.

Realy looking forward to getting out of town and doing the work we normally do.After the Xmas break we have 14km(both sides of road) of shoulder widening and sealing to do before winter arrives.
    BRING ON XMAS HOLIDAYS!!!!!

Hey Andy looks real good and yes I too would take pride in that amazing at what can be done.
What grass did you guys use on the oval?
I am in the middle of trying to decide what I need for my house..
The Hotmix guys..can they be rented or hired?
My driveway is that long and that hotmix stuff would be good...

    Hi Brad
The Hockey pitch was done in Kikiyu, only because the adjacent footy oval is Kikiyu.Hockey people prefer cooch grass.Kike is dominant over cooch so in the end the birds and mowers would carry enough Kike seed to take over the cooch grass.
Yes,the hotmix people contract out, thats how they work.
Plenty in the yellow pages, can get you their name if you like, just google Ashpalt suppliers and get quotes. This was a Perth mob,but the closer to you all the way up there the cheaper the job.WHATS WRONG WITH LOW RANGE
