Thread: $3mil for 10 mins of fireworks Melbournes New Year Eve

I dont mind fireworks, but $3m for 10 minutes. Someone is overcharging.
I know I sourced a firework display for a Christmas festival for a couple of years and had a spectacular 20-25 minute show for $20k in Kambalda. Ok was 10 years ago but cannot have increased that much or be that much better.
I understand this is privately funded but I personally would rather see it scaled back and a chunk donated to a worthwhile charity or enable employment for 20-20 people.

Just another City of Melb waste of money As a property owner within the council i got sent a letter outlining a proposal of works on one of the streets. All over the world people love cobblestone streets but not the City of Melb we are going to lift ours up machine them flat and relay them so people cant trip on the rounded edges?????
