    For Ausfree.

G'day mate,Just wondering what you make of this? From what I understand it was a mechanical problem not a fault of the driver so I find it strange he is stood down.

I know Sunbus has had many disputes with the TWU in the past, especially on the Sunshine Coast, not sure about Townsville.

Very strange that they would stand down the driver due to a mechanical problem with the bus.

G'Day DM!!! Yeah, standard procedure when a major incident happens, the driver is stood down on full pay until investigations reveal the cause of the incident. Anyrate, the driver is probably not fit emotionally to drive for a few days, and it is safer for the public that he recovers before he is allowed to drive a bus again.

We had an incident down here where a truck went through a stop sign and cleaned up a school bus and one of the children on the bus was killed. The bus driver was stood down (he was a nervous wreck, by the way)until he was cleared of all blame. The truck driver was charged with neg. driving causing death and did a jail sentence.

No!! (touch wood) I like a nice quite existence. Putting up with idiot car drivers is enough excitement for me. It amazes me the risks some people take around heavy vehicles.
