    Actually there are many astrophysicists in recent times that believe that the Universe is continuing to expand and accelerate so are challenging the theory of the "big crunch"

    We don't really know anything because everything we supposedly do know is sitting on a base of unknowable suppositions. And that only takes into account those things we do know exist but don't understand. Then there are the possibly infinite number of things that we do not know even exist.     And.....the term multiple universe is a nonsense in terminology since uni means one. If there are multiple universes then we need a new term for what we now call a universe. The term universe would cover all the multiples....which is a nonsense in terminology as well if there are an infinite number. Logically, you can't have "all" of an infinite set.
