5 Months less 4 days now!!!!. My dealer couldn't give me prices on all the accessories I wanted either. Bonnet, light protectors, Mats etc. They said they could work out a deal if I ordered it from them.

No worries guys about the condition on mine in 2008. My 2002 Disco has had it's share of off road, no easily visible scratches inside or out. Still looking like new. Will start to advertise it for sale after easter. Dealers don't offer much for a projected August Trade on a Disco Series II do they.

Is the notorious LR quality still a major concern with the new disco3?
So what are the os forums saying re build problems?
You're scaring me off the 3 and its only my second post.

Discoballs,

On a couple of the OS forums they have summarised faults, design issues and improvements into a sticky post which is updated regularly. The problem is identified , which country is experiencing the problem, who has experienced the problem and if it is intermittent or reproducable. It is very well arranged and easy to reference.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a link to one of these forums but I don't see why not if it is information sharing and helping others to make an educated decision on a big $$ purchase.

It apperas that everyone who has bought one of the Disco 3's and is actively using the forums has posted very positive experiences on improvements on build quality. Software seemed to be a problem with early models but new versions are apparently available to dealers. I guess one of the major issues were that the dealers did not have the diagnostic tools to work out the fault and once again dealers were not up to speed on the new Disco - this is being resolved. This will be the same problem for Ozzie dealers.

LR employees are even using the forums to learn what is going on in the field. One example is the errors in the user manual are being identified and noted by LR via comments in the forums - must be a first. I'm sure teh technical staff at LR are watching what's going on but aren't making that too obvious.

Read these forums then decide for yourself.

Thanks for the timely reply. The link is very useful to a newbie like me.

I am seriously considering the disco3 and need to get myself educated as big bikkies are at stake.

I'm searching for as much D3 online info as possible at present and anything you can help me with will be most appreciated.

I can see I'm gonna like hanging around this forum.

cheers

Apparently they had shift workers driving them non stop around the clock in the uk, to clock up 500000 miles to see what things would go wrong. Matt

Went off roading with a few of you today. We all know that the existing Discoveries go well off road (even the Freelander handled our trip today).

Looking forward to taking my Disco 3 Off Road ASAP after I get it (waiting, waiting, waiting!!).

Can any of you recommend a Good Test(!), somewhere around SE QLD or Northern NSW? I'm not into damaging a new vehicle, but some testing terrain would be great. Any one want to help? Might even get a ride (yes I remembered your comment on the track today Vlad!!)
