Might be a good idea, provided the pilots are better than the daughter and me. She got a little helicopter for christmas and so far its crashed into fence, tree, house and roof. luckily its proven to be a robust little sucker so far, but you won't be counting on our skills in a medical emergency.

Absolutely right!.........for the hobby flyer. But to start up an E911 company would be several million dollars. Who is going to invest that sort of money and then just ignore the rules?

I firmly believe that RPAs, micro UAVs and UAVs are the future of aviation in a host of areas currently done by manned aircraft. One area without getting to far from the thread subject would be Search and Resuce (SAR) imagine the father and his two boys in the bogged 4WD. We could locate and drop water, food or emergency equipment for a fraction of the cost of a traditional SAR team.

eventually we'll find the positive uses far outweigh the negative ones, and we'll develop the right systems to make it all workable.
