    At last corrupt individuals are stripped of Order of Australia.

    How long has it been when NSW ICAC found Eddie Obeid and John Maitland had acted corruptly?

    The Commonwealth have just announced in the Government Gazette that both Obeid and Maitland have been stripped of their respective Order of Australia awards. Disgraced Eddie Obeid stripped of Order of Australia medal in wake of ICAC corruption findings - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

    The OA and OAM can go back to meaning something honourable again.

    No idea, but it is a commonwealth offence to claim you hold an award when it has been stripped.
