guy a few houses down from me owns an absolute pearler of a cadillac
looks mint condition and he and his wife who is / was a big time model are often seen out and about in it...
the car is a third the size of their house... and i'm not kidding...
makes my place look big and tidy :p

That turnoff to Bribie from the expressway south has to be the craziest signage and structure I have ever come across.Quote:

First you have an exit sign for Bribie and AFAIR Strathpine.
Then the road splits into Strathpine and Bribie with the only sign between where the road splits. Its also counter intuitive as the RIGHT road then swings left to Bribie and the left road loops around to an overpass.
I ended up on the road to Strathpine with no way of turning for several Ks.
Coming back off the exit it was evident that I was one of hundreds as there was an "unofficial " road cut between the two roads where the Bribie road swings left, right next to the Strathpine road.
Is this a plot to keep strangers away from Bribie?

Yup! that Bribie/Caboolture/Kilcoy exit is a doozie,not too bad if the other vehicle's are car/ute size, but the B doubles make it interesting :eek:
and it look like there is a really bad prang just down the road from you in front of ningi appliance repairs kev...

We were in Surfer's Paradise on the weekend to collect 'Sugar Crush', the new addition (95 Defender SW). That Pacific Highway road thingy was just stop light after stop light and the constant rain and idiots made getting used to a Defender (and the handbrake incision maker) after 12 years away took some focus. People were doing some dumb things in the wet and basically making you shake your head every set of lights... and there are hundreds of them. We picked up the car at Coolangatta airport and stupidly headed up the coast to have a look at Southport. Never got there. So cheesed off at the idiots we turned around and headed for Sydney before lunch time.
The good that came of our Qld driving experience includes the wife being very underwhelmed with the place ("just like Manly, only more of it"
) and saving me thousand of bucks that can be spent heading to the Simpson instead of pouring them into SeaWorld or Movie World's coffers.
errrrr......$90 bucks for an annual pass for the 3 parks.
