How about a Merc C200 wagon, my younger brother has one and my older brother is picking one up on saturday.
A couple of years old and you can get a really good buy.

Mick, there is a VR sedan just down the rd from my parents house, has a big V in the front from the concrete light pole that it is still wrapped around but it will be good for some parts.

I looked at a C200 wagon recently, they're tiny inside. You would have to get an old 300TE W124 to find the sort of space to rival a Falcon although they are a fair bit narrower.

Quite frankly, the only vehicles that will match a Falcon's covered carrying ability will be a single cab ute with a canopy, nothing else is built with a long tail these days. Just most of them have an atrocious ride when empty.

I think I would really like to look at a Mondeo wagon next year and see what room they have and the cost of the different types they have.
As see what mileage they get. They seem to be in the price bracket that we are looking at. Sorry the new Range Rover is out for me

I parked next to a Mondeo the other day, they're about three quarters the length of my Fairlane. The Fairlane shares its wheelbase with the Falcon wagon.

I could do with a boot lid and a front right guard.

Yeah, Dave, stay in denial. You may find comfort there.

I'd suggest you get the whole car. You will soon be needing a lot of spares.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Half a million km it's done. As soon as it gives major problems it will be replaced so I don't need a spare car (as I do with others).
It will be replaced. I have a shortlist. Camray, Territory or W126 560SEL.

That's a backward step, even from a Dunnydore.
