    Car breakdown and insurance

Interesting to read in the latest unsealed 4x4 about the electronic system breakdown story. Unfortunately, the car was a Land Rover. The main computers in the car got fried and the people left stranded interstate. The whole drama lasted 3 weeks, involved a cast of thousands and cost $12k. At the very end of the story, they revealed that they wrangled the whole cost from their insurance company. Anyone here know how they could do that?

Yes but they could have used a different tact, but decided to use their own resources instead of LR and warranty. As an insurance company I would not have paid all of this if any as it was not an insurance issue and likely caused by the owner jump starting the vehicle or exceptionally cold weather overnight. More warranty than anything else at best.

My next door neighbor was successful with an insurance claim for water in the fuel that did about 6K damage to his Playdough.

Maybe putting jumper leads on the wrong way is classed as an accident.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Thinking more about this,if that was the case and the insurance company paid out, then it was no way an LR issue.
Could have happened to any vehicle.

Shame more was not said about this in the article.

What? And let the truth get in the way of a good story?
