    HOT Nights and Burglars beware!

Just found out that my elderly mum had an unwanted visitor.
Last night to help with the Heat mum had her bedroom window ajar to get some air. She saw a light outside her window and noticed a man trying to break into her bedroom. She had lived there for 20 years and this is the second time it's happened, the first time the burglar had one leg through the window before she scared him off.
We fitted window locks after that incidence. But short of putting iron bars on the windows which would be a death trap in a fire , now maybe we'll have to put sensor flood lights around the perimeter?
Anyway just a warning that these bastards are out there taking opportunities in hot houses

Firstly, I hope your Mum is ok, what a terrible thing to happen to an older person, they don't need this type of crap when they should be enjoying later life.

Secondly, I hope the worthless piece of garbage that tried to break in suffers from a drug overdose. Yes, I know, I'm a heartless bastard, I have an elderly Mum and feel no sympathy for anyone doing something like this.

A can of spray paint nice and handy would do the job.
Let em have it in the face and about the head and torso. It will sting their eyes, take their breath, and leave them well marked so Mr Plodd can easily identify them.

    Cheers, Mick.

    A timely warning.

Our dogs sleep inside, and although they wouldn't (and couldn't ) hurt a fly, they sure can bark - quite convincingly, and I think that would put most off. It would certainly give me enough time to be prepared for the visitor.

It's that time of the year again with long school holidays and bored teens. I've got a security system and constantly see young lads 16+ come down the driveway and try the car doors late at night.
I've installed red flood lights to cut out the dazzle when they first go on.....get some surprised looks at the camera before they quickly depart.
On 2 occasions I've taken thumb drives to the cops to show them of suss events and no action taken even when I told them where one bloke lived....right opposite actually!
This was in a period of high burglar activity and they couldn't bothered.
Being as that was the same 24 hour nick which had a ute rammed through the front door and set on fire late at night and no one inside noticed, I shouldn't surprised really.

I am currently fitting to some houses a simple panic button, whack the button(s) and an external siren and light is triggered.

And/or a compressed air horn from a marine shop.
