Enamel paint drying time

Hi Guys
I painted the van on wednesday using spray enamel.
It is well and truely "touch dry" but it is still obviously wet underneath. If you push a finger on the paint you can leave a finger print.
It was perfect spraying weather on wed, around 26,but it started raining wed nite and it hasnt stopped since. We had about 14deg yesterday and today isnt any warmer.Last week we had 3 or 4 days over 40deg!!
Does anybody know how long and what temp the paint needs to "bake off"??? For the time being it will sit in the shed till the sun comes out, which sounds like sun or mon.
Bugga I wanted to take it out for a spin Cant even get it out of the shed for some photos, this drizzle wont stop.

Cold + wet weather = longer drying times for paint. You can add dryers to paint however it must be done before application. For the oxidation process to occur you just have to wait untill the days warm up a bit.Or put some heaters in the shed.
Lucky for you it had managed to cure some what before the cold and wet got to it, or you would be up against a problem called blooming. Thats where the cold kills the gloss and turns the paint white in places.
Cheers Tyrepower.

Staceys dad is handy with a spray gun and has painted a few cars. We did one for my sister in the last school hols. He said to leave it up to 3 weeks before giving it a tea cut and polish. But i assume it all depends on what paint you used. Matt

Hi Ace
If it needed a cut/polish he would have used acrylic not enamel. No need to polish this one,its already too shiny for a series
I will have to muddy it up soon.

Just remember it will take a while to reach its hardest state, depending on the temps you are getting. Matt
