    Old school fun

Been back in Perth for a couple of days and have spent some of it doing some 1970/80s kid stuff as our 7yr old son is fairly static due to a badly broken leg.

At our family farm over Xmas our son for the first time really started to get into my old toy soldiers (which mum thankfully kept) and when we got back to Perth we went to Toyworld in Freo and bought a few packets of Airfix toy soldiers (and an ME 109) and have been busy painting the soldiers and now gluing the model.

Been 30 plus years I think since I last did this and we are both having fun. Still smells the same, fingers still get stuck together and the smell of turps sends me right back to the late 70s and birthday parties where all we wanted were a heap of models to build.

Best of all the Xbox has not even been looked at for a few days.

And we are yet to bring out the Scaletrix!!!

We still have a half completed model Lancaster Bomber bought for now 18y.o. son about 12 years ago. He just wasn't interested. Still isn't.

    Broken limb you say?

    That might work.

Other than that, I'll finish it one day.

If you are really ambitious, you may like to introduce him to Meccano!
Great training for anyone who may one day have plans to own a Land Rover I reckon.

Except you only need one set of spanners for a Meccano
