Mmmm a plastic bullbar for plastic bulls
Still if you combine the plastic bullbar galvanized chassis and alloy panels it will last forever
Looking at the updated land rover website I noticed a pic of a defender sporting what appeared to be a plastic bull bar. It actuaally looks very good.
what do others think?

but where does the winch go 8O
130's rule
I like the look of it and it would appease some of the pedestrian types a bit. The plastic smart bars are as strong as a steel one and tend to get less damage from an animal impact.Originally posted by hiline

Looks like it uses the original bumper so you would need a winch cradle.
Land Rover, as usual, were the first to accept these designs. The plastic flexible bars were created in the UK when the whole bull bar thing started over there. As you say it looks good, and they are as strong as the metal ones, as they absorb more of the impact, and then mould back into shape. Matt

There is a company in SA that makes them but did not respond to my query.
WEIGHT SAVING guys, it'd be a LOT lighter!!!!
They certainly would be, but as mentioned above how would you go fitting a winch aswell as one of those? MattOriginally posted by rmp

I doubt fitting a winch cradle or winch bar under the bull bar would be overly difficult at all. The standard bumper might even make it easier to fit recovery points!
I hadn't thought about the weight issue either!

If you put a Plastic Bull Bar on a Real 4WD like a Fender then you might as well give up the game and buy a Lada....
Plastic is for Commodores.
