the bits here that wind me up?
How about we start with my shiny bum?
My bum if far from shiny, but for every arrest I make there is at least 2 hours typing.. Thats 2 hours on my bum... but I have checked it is not shiny. Sometimes after a few hours in the cold at a scsne or searching for someone whos run off or gotten lost I think its turned or turning blue but at those times I havent stopped dropped my tweeds and shone my torch on my derieire to check....not yet anyway!

I have for the last 29 years chased up all the information I can to ensure I get whatever facts I can to get to the truth. I do however expect people to supply some sort of evidence if they make an allegation.. not necessarily all the evidence but something at least. In some cases what you are saying is true we need to "catch them in the act" --

but to imply we sit around doing stuff all while people are being ripped off or assaulted etc is pretty ripe... especially when in this state (and most others) the staff actually doing the job is cut down further and further and the paperwork increases so our workload is actually about 50% more over the past 5 years and yet our staff has been cut from 7 to 5.... anyway as I pointed out, generalisations are uncalled for....as they get people off side easily.

When all is said and done, it was just a nudge to point out that your comment had been noticed and I didnt quite agree with it. I am sure you werent pointing at anyone etc in particular.

Re the problem described above by Tank of a thug misrepresenting himself as a member of an outlaw motorcycle gang: I gather that hit jobs done by OMG's are largely carefully considered first. One factor would be how likely police would be to try and take action against the gang. In some cases is unlikely this would be a problem. Also, that if a gang hears about someone threatening to get them onto someone else, they have not been consulted and especially if it is a sort of job they probably would not do anyway, the gang is likely to take action against the person making the preposterous threats. So contacting the gang could possibly result in curing the problem more quickly and effectively than the police could achieve.

A treacherous and spiteful woman who managed to get into a position of authority in a voluntary organisation I have been involved with apparently made threats of using the services of an OMG against those who initially stood up to her. Unknown to her, a couple of those threatened had a mate who had had some involvement with the same gang. He got as far arranging for a woman involved with this gang who was a proficient street fighter to pay the perpetrator a visit. This was not carried through because the perpetrators address was not immediately available and in the meantime she was pushed out of the organisation as others became aware of what she really was like under a sometimes charming fa?ade.

I gather this particular OMG has been involved in some drug dealing activities but is very strongly opposed to heroin, largely because it is very prone to causing accidental deaths. Have heard some interesting stories on ways they have put heroin dealers out of business. Obviously largely appreciated by the police, who would generally finish up in jail themselves if caught doing the same sort of things. eg A simple example: Police would have most likely had to put in a lot of work to stop a dealer and his addicted offsiders selling heroin near a school. OMG members grabbed and shot him in kneecap and made it clear to assistants they would receive same treatment if their business continued.
