We need to build a good relationship with China because there are many more threatening "situations" in our area than China.
Pickles.
I think that we have a good relationship wit China . The problem is we have an even better relationship with the USA . There' s no doubt that as China becomes richer , It will want to flex It's muscles . Also we can see that It's military are expanding to a point , where It is building It's military far larger than It needs just to defend It's self . We can see that other county's in region are becoming concerned . We in the west only have our selves to blame . Our desire for cheep Chinese goods has boosted there economy , at the expense of our own . The US. the UK. and even here we have seen our manufacturing decline . I hope we never have to go into a major conflict , because not just us but our western partners ,couldn't supply us . The fact is major manufacturing has gone !!.. Jim
Why worry,we have JSF stealth fighters that will shoot them down without them ever knowing. Pat
The Australian Government sold HMAS Melbourne to China, for scrap. They forgot to remove the catapult & arrester system completely. Melbourne wasn't scrapped straight away, but sat alongside for quite some time, rumour has it Chinese engineers paid close attention to what remained of the catapult & arrester systems. Rumour also has it the USA was not impressed. Bob
please dont tell me they were concerned about STEAM catapults,,,
At the time, yes. Bob
You're kidding right?
Be as concerned as you like it will not change the fact we can (and will) do nothing about it.
