Maybe he should have bought a Jeep. At least the roof would be further out of the water so you don't get your bum wet

Mt Glorious had 1300mm in the 5 days leading up to '74 floods.
    Now that was some rain.
    Then there were king tides.

And the place was already soaked,SE corner, after 3 weeks of previous rain.

Now if that was to happen today with all the development, etc,it would be a major disaster, far worse than 2011.

I have a daughter who works as a ranger based near Karratha. She says, roads are cut everywhere because of floodwaters coming into the area which is very flat. Mrs Aus spoke to her yesterday.

Our daughter and family look like getting a second cyclone pretty close to them, although they are further inland this time and it isn't as severe at this stage.

Cyclone Nathan is presently over Gove.. hope everyone is all OK..from what we can see on websites a couple of boats have come adrift in the Harbour and there is lots of wind. Still the Govites have their sense of humor with some of the comments on their website!

The storm is now heading west and probably will pass over Gapuwiyak where our daughter & family live. Fingers crossed it won't be too bad by the time it gets there. Stay safe North East Arnhem Land..you have copped a double whammy this Wet season!
