Cheerio!

Hi Everyone!

Well we are finally heading off tomorrow morning for our trip around the country. 'Kimba' is all saddled up and champing at the bit...it will be a relief to finally get out of Sydney

First stop will be down near Temora in SW NSW to pick up 'Iggy' (the camp trailer) and then off to Mungo National Park for a few days.

Plan is to then follow the Murray down to SA before starting our way over to WA. The only firm dates are for late June in Broome (special guest visits) and then in July for Arnham land (permits). Will be flying back to Sydney in August for few days to surprise some friends and family and then back for the Gulf, Cape York and Central Aust. The plan is to then work our way back to SA, Vic and Tas for the summer months.

We will try and pop in now and again to catch up on all the LR gossip.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped with ideas and advice in getting us to this point. Please look after yourselves and we will see you all soon on AULRO!

Regards

P.S. -- we will try and post some pics as we go at the link below.

Bon Voyage

I am planning to leave Perth and head to Broome on 27 June (and upwards to Cape Leveque). It sounds like you may have left by the time we get there but I'll keep an eye out for you on the road.

Friends met friends of friends in a queue in New York once. Only the week before mutual friend had said "Keep an eye out for XXXX if you are in the States - don't you hate it when people say stupid things things like that? - there is only 150 million people in the US and who knows how many sq kilometres"

So, if you see a white Defender station wagon and a white Defender tray back with canopy, it's us. We are on UHF22 or very nearby if 22 is cluttered. Flag us down and say Hi. We won't miss you if you drive by, spotting other Defenders is our main topic of conversation next to what we'll have for dinner and when we should make camp (ie have first beer).

You will not see many Defenders in WA while driving the country roads, but Broome is an exception. Last year the Defender count went from 2 to 20 as we drove into Broome.

Have a good time and stay safe
There are two types of people in this world, good and bad. The good sleep better, but the bad seem to enjoy the waking hours
