I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

The Japs may have been an Alie in ww1 , but they defiantly were not in ww2 for me that forfeits any right . They won't even except or acknowledge what they did to prisoners of war , or there so called comfort women were even war crimes . Could you imagine the way some of our solders died , knowing there flag would fly next to ours .. Less we forget .. Jim

List of war apology statements issued by Japan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
having posted that. under no uncertain terms should any Vet be expected to march under the rising sun. and that is the emotional answer and probably the correct one.
but then the rising sun is not the Japanese flag of today in the same context that the swasticker is to the German flag. both the rising sun and the swasticker are banned by there respective country s.
if we can have waffen SS marching under the German flag on anzac day. the logicically we can have a Japanese solder marching under the Japanese flag on the day
I may be wrong but wasn't there a thread about this last Anzac Day?
And as they were allies in WWI I believe they are entitled to have their flag flown with our other allies flags..the Japanese Imperial Navy escorted the ANZACS to Egypt on their way to Gallipoli..
It is part of a WWI display... We have Italians marching under their own flag, for over 1/2 the wars they were against us!!

This is the first time this has been done, in Brisbane, and it is purely for the 100 year remembrance celebrations. FWIW, no veterans will be marching any where near this first group, no Italians or any other group, which is separate from the main march. The flags will be purely to demonstrate the Nations that were on our side. Still, even now some wounds are a little raw. Bob

I should explain the reason I posted this thread. The media [ ch 9, Courier mail] reported that the Japanese flag would be flying off the Cenotaph , and one report said it would march with the marchers on parade. Even after the RSL clarified the situation, no withdrawal of the report was forth coming. I know this caused some angst in the veteran community here, and thought it necessary to post the facts . Bob
