    Ordered my new tyres.

After an eventful weekend of tyre destruction i decided the ****ty Desert duelers had to go. So i ordered a set of Cooper S/T's. nearly $100 cheaper than the BFG's and $55 cheaper than the Wranglers. The side walls are only 2 ply but they look to be a very robust tyre, and given the good things i have been hearing i thought i'd give them a go. You never know till you try hey. Everyone told me go the BFG's but another $400 on a set of tyres just wasnt in the budget at the moment. Will let you know what i think of them as time goes by. Matt

    Inc,

You mention coopers, are the tyres duds or just honouring the warranty is the issue, ve also heard the BFG arn't the tyre they used to be, and this is from a BFG lover in the tyre business 8O

    Ace,

What size are you going for, I think I'll be getting 245/75 16's to start with, then maybe 235/85 16's after some body trimming and lifting  after the newness wears off inthe next year or so

i am told both the tyre and the warranty are at issue.

i quiickly read a part their warranty online a few months ago and if out bush you have to take your tyre back to a "capitol city" to get warranty for a start 8O

all info i have is second hand, i have never owned coopers myself and like all 2nd hand info, add your own grain of salt!

My soon to be new tyres.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>The NEW TrXus Mud Terrain is INTERCO'S answer to the need of those who want a smooth, super quiet ride with tough thick sidewalls with a chip and cut resistant compound. This tire has more siping than any other mud terrain on the market; which has proven to be almost magical in icy snowy conditions. These same traction features make this tire a serious rock climber.

Each TrXus Mud Terrain tire has its individual specifications and is heavier than the original equipment tires of comparable size. Many brands of tires are made from generic specifications which means there are many "brand names" coming out of a particular factory but all the tires have a common specification basic body or casing. The only difference is the mold the tire is cured in. The tires will have different tread designs but the body of the tire is common to many others of the same size but under various names.

    Oh, I love a good tyre thread :!: ...

On the other hand plenty of people are very happy with their Coopers - I'm sure it depends on many factors like the type of terrain, the tyre pressures involved, the speeds, the tread pattern chosen, whether its a newer or older compound rubber etc etc etc.

Ace good luck with them I hope they go well for you.

Maggot4x4 - What prices are those going for ? Where ? They look a bit like a cross between an AT and MT in that pic. Or an MT with slightly more closed tread than others around, at least.
