I'm on the gold coast soon for a visit

Yup, i'm sneaking past the border guard and spending a week at the gold coast with my wifes family from the 28th of may to the 4th of june (OMG that is close 8O )

I won't have a lot of spare time, as Rebecca's folks haven't been to qld, so our days will be packed.

Anyone intereste in a meetup for drinks one evening? I'll have a rentacar so I can travel to wherever, but obvioulsy the closer the better.

Pedro's up for it.

Maryborough's only abot 4 hours north of the GC. Not far at all.
Even less in a V8.

Or you could come up to Brissie and meet us.

Or I could come down in the Defender but I don't know if the Gold Coast snobs would let me in the door, without my Range Rover

Will have to check closer to the time, if I have a suitable day off.
Would be good to catch up.

Hi Phoenix, seeing as it’s your holiday, is there anything that you might be interested in doing while you are up in Queensland.

Cheers.

Ok, i've got a few questions to answer. I'd love to have a spare day or two to catch up with you guys and some others, but time is against me.

The defence apartments that we are staying at, whilst being cheap and in a fantastic spot (chevron island) can only be booked for a calendar week at a time (saturday to saturday).

Vlad, i'm not against driving up to or nearer to brisbane for a meet up, because like I said, i'll have a vehicle, also, we are flying into brisbane so i'll be up that way on the last day anyway.

Pedro, you're not wrong about cars, I saw a couple of slick ferarri's etc on our last trip up there.

Ferno, rouble is the missus want's to show her family as much as she can in the time, this is the big trip that she was supposed to have with her family as kids, but they have only been able to afford now. So I reakon I have buckleys of convincing her. Next trip to QLD hopefully wil be a driving holiday when we have the spare time to see people. But a driving holiday to SA will be before that (probably end of next year).

Drivesafe, at this stage the itinery is pretty full. first and last days for traveling and small sights. Allowing a day for dreamworld, another for seaworld and another for movie world, that gives us 3 spare days. Another day for shoping and perhaps a cruise around the canals is another day down. Kill another day for a visit to rellies perhaps and sightseeing on the gold coast itself.

Mmmm, might actually have a day and a bit spare in the end looking at that. Might have to sit down on the weekend and do a bit more planning
