I just wanted to say thanks to the guy in the Defender Ute who waved to my wife when she was out driving today. It was the best welcome to LandRover ownership
EDIT: I just got the full story... It was the corner of Maundrell Tce and Rode RD. It was just before midday. Apparently the "youngish guy" was frantically waving and beeping the horn. My wife waved, but couldn't find the horn!

There are two types of people in this world, good and bad. The good sleep better, but the bad seem to enjoy the waking hours
I saw tusker heading towards bathurst out of lithgow the other day, but the sun was in his eyes, i waved but the reflection on the windscreen meant i couldnt see if he waved back. I do wave to every land rover i see. Matt

So do I generally, but for some reason around here I don't get that many waves back. I'm always looking for that AULRO sticker.
I know how anti social people down your way are Disco, i saw i dont know how many landies on the way to see you in the holidays, and didnt get one wave.Originally posted by disco95

Hi CR, most people say fender owners are the main ones who wave as only real land rover fans drive them, but i get waves from all landy owners. I just wave at anyone driving a land rover and hope for the best. MattOriginally posted by Captain_Rightfoot

That does it. My conscience has been pricked enough times and I am going over to the Emporium to buy an AULRO sticker.
My own personal aesthetic for the Defender is to keep it nude of all decorations believing as I do in its unsurpassable natural beauty. At the moment on the drivers side rearmost window there is a Keysbrook Burger sticker in honour of the the burgers from its original home town and a Remote Equipment Repair sticker in honour of my mate's company in Melbourne, he made my beloved seat covers. It will be joined by an AULRO sticker so if you see me around (Perth normally, Pilbara and Broome this July) shout and wave.
I wave at other Defenders but for other models I look to see for signs that they are fans or travellers before waving. Always return waves unless it is too late and feel terrible when I return a wave too late for the other person to see.
speaking of which---
how'd we end up going with the big alpine window stickers???
Anyone??

9 times out of 10 I get a wave form a Defender/County/Series but Disco and RR owners in the city have no clue. I've waisted numerous waves on them ... gettting a 10% hit rate ... usually when the vehicle is obviously geared for travel/offroad.
I've never seen an AULRO sticker on the road .. I did see Lurch (Defenderzook) parked on the side of the road and popped in for a cuppa at his news agency .. Thanks Tony
Is there a universal place to put the sticker? Would make it easier to spot... or shall we just paint AULRO on the side of the door .. like the UN vehicles.
