AFAIK it is a suppressor.
Nearly everyone takes them off.
I think it came with the 3.9 or maybe a bit later when laws required that suppression spark plugs be used to reduce RFI.
You will probably note an earth to the bonnet in the LH corner both for heated washer nozzles and to reduce earth loops and RFI.

RFI suppressor resistor. I've chucked every one that I've come across as they are no longer waterproof in their old age and what with modern plugs and leads are not required.
but great for getting that lead up out of the way if nothing else.. :pQuote:

My 92 had all those multilingual stickers on it.
LR saved money by having one sticker for export markets.
Probably find it saved $1 per car.
