Spare a thought for the Saffies!

I had a chat with some of the blokes in South-Africa and those guys sure get the end of the stick when it comes to new car prices. I presume the South-African government can take credit for that :roll: . I did a comparison on landy prices, to say we are lucky is an understatement 8O

* Prices based on RRP as per the LR websites.
** ZAR prices converted to AU$ using today's exchange rate.

SE Disco3 TDV6
AU = $73,650
ZAR = $103,947

Defender 110 TD5 CSW (Extreme)
AU = $47,950
ZAR = $64,950
--> Bare in mind, Defenders are assembled in South-Africa 8O

HSE Range Rover V8
AU = $136,900
ZAR = $178,541

Credit to the boys though .. there is still a healthy landy following over there and a big interest in the Disco3.

I did find something hilarious on the ZA Land Rover website .. under "Defender Quick facts":
<span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%">- Seats up to nine people in comfort</span>

If anyone in SA would like a new Land Rover and you can grey import it Tax Free once it has 5,000km on it (as is the case in the UK), then why not buy a Landy here, I'll happily put the required milage on it and then you can freight it home. :wink:

If I could do 5 or 6 Landies a year, I could always be driving a new car (someone elses at that!).

I think it's a win - win situation. :!:
