    Paintwork...roof respray

    Evening all,

I wanted to throw this one out for some general feedback and advice...

Every panel on my D2 is in excellent condition paint-wise, except for the roof, which is showing signs of dulling and fading. It's finished in Bonatti Grey and though I've tried to cut it back in, even trying some of the proclaimed 'colour magic' polish, I think it's beyond that now.

If there are any panel beaters/crash repair experts on AULRO, I'm just after a general guide as to what a roof 'blow-over' would cost, and is it worth it, or is there another way it can be restored to the same condition as the rest.

    Thanks all, enjoy your evening!

If the roof's gone the rest, bonnet particularly, isn't far behind. The good news is that it's only the clear coat that's cactus.
Any where that the paint has "gone off", in your case the roof will need rubbing back and repainting. The rest will need rubbing back with Scotchbright* and a new clearcoat applied.

*Not any old Scotchbright you find under the kitchen sink. Colour coded grades are available from automotive paint suppliers.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

simple enough ... scuff it back and respray. It doens't need to be perfect, no-one can see up there unless there 7' tall anyway You'll need scaffolding to stand on in order to spray it though LOL
