and joel be aware you also get wombats going between pt augusta and the wa border they will do you more harm than any roo especially after rain !
I did Mundrabilla,Cocklebiddy and Rawlinna when I lived in Kalgoorlie two years ago for a weekend trip and the amount of red roo's was unbelieveable,I think more than a few were big enough to have me looking up at them and I'm 6'1''. Pat

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

I have one of those on video as well. I found it after I had uploaded that video though.

Buffalo are bad at night too. They are nearly as bad as pigs, which I find the absolute worst. They are black, move around at night and move fast from the sides of the road.

Pigs are about the worst fear of hiting at night. We are all scared of something.

    Happy Days.

unfortunately not everyone has the luxury of time.

i prefer to be off the road at night because of the roos.

I have never seen a camel at night but dodged a few during the day. They are pretty bigh though and hardly pop out of no where.

Dodged them in the Gibson desert on a motor bike during the 90's.

Unfortunalty I don't have footage of a near miss. Simply becasue I never had one.

For those that say they don't drive at night becasue of the roos. I'd rather be dodging roos at night in the bush than dodging drivers in Sydney during the day. When I go to Sydney, I want to be off the road with a drink in hand by 5am. LOL

I can't understand why people drive during the day in big cities. Life is too short to take those kinds of risks.

    Happy Days.

If anyone has any advice for what to look out for between Broome and Meekatharra, I'm all ears. I'm aware of emus and camel and the odd roo.

    Happy Days.

Agree with you there Joel, hitting a pig is like hitting a block of concrete. That stretch of road between Barcaldine and Winton is terrible for roos. Last time i was through there a couple of years ago I counted 43 carcasses in a 1km stretch and that rate of carnage went for hundreds of K's. The drought and small showers have attracted them all to the roads for the green pick and the road trains clean them up in droves. Sad to see but if you a driving a road train you don't slow down or swerve. I usually give them a blast of the horn but if they don't shift they cop it - that is all you can do.
    Cheers......Brian

I hit a pig at 100 in flat bed truck with a Ditch Witch on the back near Bourke. It just bounced off and ran away.
