I just got back to Darwin yesterday. 10,000km and I only kept 60 seconds of footage. In comparison to traveling the Bathurst 2 weeks earlier where I filled 2 hrs without a problem and could have made it 4 hrs.
There were a few head of cattle about but nothing excessive. I probably only saw 15 between Port Headland and Meekathara. All of these were well of the road and didn't cause a problem. The 60 seconds of footage was of the biggest roo I have ever seen but unfortunately he was too far off the road for my camera to pick up.
I left Darwin at 10pm after finishing work and made it to Broome the following night. Sunday morning we left Broome and made it to Perth by 2pm Monday. I thought that was pretty good traveling.
On the way home we went from Karlgarin to Denham on Thursday. Friday we went out to Monkey Mia and had a dip in Peron Hot Spring so we left pretty late to head to Dampier. Stayed at Dampier and again took our time to leave before we headed to Kununurra on a last over night trip and headed home from Kununurra on Monday morning.
A sweet 10,000km in 10 days.
Happy Days

Over the last few months I've been noticing a sizable increase in the amount of fresh road kill on the side of the road.
Last night I added to that tally.
The poor old Commodore is looking a little battle scarred at the moment.

All out of date! I was listening to a Trevor Long (spelling) on a tech segment on my local Canberra radio station this morning, and instead of crapping on about the latest iphone whatever, he was talking about the new LR Disco sport and the technology incorporated in it which included the ability to detect animals (people) via the incorporated technology way before the lights would pick them out. all you need is a cool bit over 3/4 million bucks and its yours! Imagine the savings on roo damage? ....
apparently this imporessive car also has USB ports in every seat, so a steal at that price to stop the kids arguing over the charger!
