I set my roof lights up so the outer ones shine well into the bush, the inner ones right on the edge of the road and the headlights straight ahead, gives more reaction time. Pat
I thought I would post this as I thought most people like to be off the road after dark. In my experience however that was wrong. There's nobody but me and road trains on the road at night.

As I just drove this last week 3810km in 44.5hrs. It would have been 44.5 but the steak at Pine Creek hotel is just too good to go past. Any way as I just drove it I wasn't keen to sit down and watch it all again just to edit it so this are just 3 random clip I grabbed.
Oh, I'm sure you can guess what all the dark stains are on the road. Jam any one?
Happy Days

Hell of a lot more than I see.
I see lots through the day as well along with emus, echidnas, eagles and spotted deer.
Oh. I was going to start that last post with I drive day and night.
Was probably worse than that between Madura and Mundrabilla coming across the paddock last week.
Especially after a few drops of rain and some water puddles on the black top - they were all coming out for a drink. There's some bloody big ones out there too.![]()
Cheers .........

Wow ... you must have been travelling at 50km/h through that mess.
Are they in plague proportions again ? My drive to work is about 8minutes ... maybe 5kms and I almost hit a 'roo yesterday mornign on my way to work... broad daylight, 9:30 in the morning ... and a 'roo heads out of the paddocks .... must have been doing 40km/h ... the 2 oncoming cars and me do full on crash stops leaving about 1 meter between us as this thing hurtles through ... A massive bastard that stands higher than the 'roo bar on the rangey.... I'd only have taken it's legs out sending it through the windscreen. just to prove how smart it is ... 3/4of the way across the road, it stops and goes back. Gee's it would have look impressive if I had a dash cam. how the hell it didn't wipe out one of the cars is beyond me .... we all sat there for about 30seconds to scared to move wondering if the crazy bastard would go for a 3rd attempt and come hurtling back out of the bush again.
Oh well, it's all fun rightI looked up in the paddock and all the animals were running around crazy .... I reckon there must have been someone out there shooting at the 'roos .... that's why it came hopping out of the trees at such a hell of a rate

Thanks Joe, I enjoyed your video, almost thought I was "there"!
What were you driving?
Pickles.
My Adelaide Hills street has enough of them that I travel at 40km/h most of the time to miss them. Hell, even on the mountain bike I've had to dodge the dopey beggars. Last week I chased one down the steep section of my road at 30-35 km/h until the roo saw walkers coming the other way. It's amazing how full size roos fit themselves through a single hole in the ring lock fencing.![]()
Adelaide Hills?...We have friends in Humbug Scrub, who have plenty of these "visitors".
Some are very large,...there is one "senior" member of the mob who is well over 6' tall, does not fear Humans, & will not get out of the way of cars on the road to my friend's property,....He makes you drive around him!
He was on my friend's lawn at one time, & I said to my friend, "What would you do if he came towards you",... He said, "Run"!
