    The 55 death greyhounds case

It appears that got two people.
It is a repulsive act IMO and I hope that the authorities will get to the bottom of this

Man and woman arrested, charged following discovery of 55 dumped greyhound carcasses

Tis a dirty industry greyhound racing

The reports on TV last year were saying that

Dogs they had no use for were put down

By bleeding them to death and then using

The blood in transfusion to other dogs

Evidently many hundreds of dogs are disposed

    Of this way

I heard this covered on the radio this morning and the newsreader referred to the "murder" of 55 greyhounds.

A nasty business no doubt but when did dogs become people?

There is a cruelty to animals act (law) which the perpetrators will be charged with, but in a legal sense (in my understanding) murder is the killing of one person by another.
I'd chalk that one up to a journo trying to spice up the story with emotive language. Not the first time this has been done by the media, and definitely not the last.

Nasty business indeed. I'd support stronger regulation and harsher penalties to the Cowboys who run their businesses in this way, I'm not part of the 'shut down the industry' crowd. I don't mind a punt on the dish lickers.

It was on the whisper many years ago that if a dog did not perform the ears were cut off to stop I.D and dispose of the body. As for Live baiting, that's been going on for years, possums were worth about $50 if you could supply them, no questions asked. It is not a clean industry.

They have a better rights council.

I know many home owners who would happily supply possums for free, provided they don't return.

It would be nice to see the doing that and report them so the full force of the law can be used and I hope without bail rights.

Whilst it's a sick act, and I hope those responsible get to spend many happy months with Bubba and his bar of soap, why does this get such an emotional response but the dail, legal, mistreatment of thousands of animals in the name of food supply scarcely raise a whisper....

It falls under the category of 'out of sight, out of mind' most likely....

In urban areas, possums are a pest.
    Many are dispatched.

I'm sure in the Chucaro residence roaches are welcome and insect sprays are banned but out in the greater society, if there is a pest, it is dealt with.
