HUE166[/B], Garland Valley is on the other side of the Wilderness. You need to go west young man. :D
"Young Man"? You've made me blush!

Newnes State Forest towards Gooches Crater.
So much of that area where it could be, looks a bit like the area around Marangaroo Creek, or Farmers creek down towards the old Lithgow Water supply dam.
Martyn
You're getting closer but the area you describe is almost due south of Bird Rock (see earlier post) so you now need to go east almost as far as you can legally go. :o
The 1:250k and 1:25k topos of this area create a bit of confusion as the 1:250k map has, IMHO, named the creek incorrectly - but I'll accept either name. I just checked Google Maps and it also has the incorrect (but acceptable) name. ;)
It shouldn't be long now before I can go back downstairs and complete the service on the Defender.
I'll take a stab the with Bungleboori creek (or 9 mile creek on the 250k maps) on the basis of the clue or maybe Dumbano creek ( next one SE)
Bungleboorie Ck is what I know it as so congratulations Martyn.
Apart from me getting back to the service on the Defender in preparation for another high country trip, Where are you taking us to now Martyn?
Process of elimination, I'll dig another pic out after I get home
OK where am I now
