Yates Crossing perhaps?
Steve
Not known as Yates Crossing.
Some more clues ..................
The original bridge at this site was built more than 125 years ago, was 13.7m high and was washed away during a flood in 1946 which peaked at 16m.
The water flowing down this river eventually reaches the Clarence River.

Plains Station Road just out of Tabulam. I don't know the name of the crossing if that's it?
Steve
Still too far north.

WE camped at Wave Hill Station a few years ago & it may be on the old Carnham road but I'm clutchihg at straws here as the memory is not so good. We did a fair bit of driving around that area in '07 & wouldn't mind going for a rerun.
Steve
Wave Hill Station is still too far north but I agree that the whole area is a great area with numerous nice riverside camp spots.
However, the location we're looking for is south of the Gwydir Hwy.
