( and the tracks for those who didn't pick it up is the OODNADATTA and BIRDSVIILE. Tracks, which are both like dirt highways now....(until it rains.)

That portable looks as though the boiler at least is as good as new. The fire box door has been left open in order to trap curious children, so I say Snow Town. :angel::wasntme:

Morgan boat ramp, next to the ferry. The building is a mortuary, and if I remember correctly, the person on the slab is Harvey. Was that the peak, around the 20th of December? I didn't make it up there at the peak of this high water event, but it appears to be about one metre higher than the high water event six years ago.

Well I would have preferred accuracy!! Well done, and was on, I think about the 22nd which was their day before peak! All yours Aaron!

The mortuary was built to deal with the dead being brought in from the river and nearby towns. . The Morgue was erected in 1886 – victims of accidents along the river were taken there by steamer prior to burial. The cemetery is situated on the outskirts of the township (off the Burra Road), which was established in 1889. The burial records can be viewed in Landseer museum just up the hill. It is believed that the first person to be buried there was a Royal Navy Surveyor by the name of Harvey, who had speculated whilst assisting in the preparation of the ground, as to who would be the first to be interred. Tragic and ironic .. they had celebratory drinks to celebrate the completion of the building, he went for a swim and drowned becoming the first customer. The slab table is still fitted along with the drains that empty straight into the river!
