Yes they are revetments where they parked the B24's as blast protection. Lots of 50cal belt clips still lying around.

Interesting info there mate, my Dad was with 3 and 4 ACS (airfield construction squadrons) in Tarakan/Labuan, Borneo in WW2 also. There is a book called "Always first" by Davis Wilson which you might like to read. The yanks always landed the aussie ACS from LCT's before they actually took over the islands.
