not NT, not SA .
Im guessing 99.9% of people continue on past it on the way to their destination, TBH its probably an hours or so out of your way to get there, but bloody well worth it !!
Infact by the sound of it, I'd say as many people know about this secret place now at they did when it was a going concern,

here is another view, from my drone (I wish)

the windsock is at the intersection of runways .
the concrete slab / building remnants are at the bottom
The Japs could never find it in WW2 either - but they never had google :)
-
Well then it has to be in Qld or W.A.
Seisia Qld? Not enough vegetation I guess'

No not Seisia / Bagama , Just as an asides my Father in Law was with RAAF Airfield Construction Squadron - he built the Seisia WW2 Jacky Jacky strip , possibly named after him, as well as Gove and Taracan / Borneo .
Nope its not in QLD either , so that leaves good old WA !!
No wonder the Japs had trouble !!

Noonkanbah?
Edit - Delete Noonkanbah - only single runway.
-
Jacky Jacky is east of Bamaga, Seisia west.

Corunna Downs Airbase, it is, USA and later RAAF flew B24 Liberator Bombers out of there. bloody fascinating place.
Instead of blasting up and down the tourist & bogan filled roads and places advertised in 4WD magazines, these are the places we enjoy - still plenty of unspoiled destinations in this country !!

Another destination to add to my bucket list - thanks.
BTW, did you investigate what appear to be a number of bunkers to the north of the runways? Fuel or aircraft storage?
-
A little known feature not too far from a major road.
