Its funny that this has come up as this week as a disqualified drunk driver in a Camry drove through a wall into a schoolyard and put a 5 year old boy in hospital.

And they think 4WD's are a problem

Yeah but if you follow that to it's illogical conclusion, The camry is the base for the lexus rx model, therefore a 4WD is kind of involved so then it must be the fault of 4WDers.

The sad thing is that most of the hysteria has nothing to do with fact and is scaremongering by a minority group that want everyone to see things their way and ban everything they do not agree with. This country is slowly going to crap as minority groups seem to be getting way to much say and influence over our future. I dont want to ban ballroom dancing just because I dont particularly like it or want to do it. Maybe we should ban cricket cause some one may use a bat to assault someone or ban fishing because of the danger of getting a pelican or a kid with a hook. The list is endless and I am really getting sick of seeing this crap every night on the news. It is about time people started taking responsibillity for their actions and not blaming everything and anything else. I have got the perfect solution lets just ban schools and avoid the issue and have a country of dumbasses, Better still lets ban kids and avoid the problem altogether. Now that I have had mine it is ok as I may need them to look after me when I am an old and dribbling idiot. Oh **** I may already be there.

Imagine the results if he had been driving a 4wd. Matt

I am sick off all the safety rules and regs. What happen to only the strongest survive. Seems to me that with all the safety happenng around the place those with tendencies to swim in the shallow end of the gene pool are living longer the those who have some grey matter to pass on to the next generation of recipiants.

The Daily Telegraph (yesterday?) has a small story about a bicyclist being injured after running into a 4WD. The 4WD was parked and stationary.

Why was 4WD mentioned at all? Why not say the rider rode into a parked car?

How are you going to ban 4WDs near schools?

Look at how many schools are built on major roads.

Maybe we should ban the building of schools on highways and major roads. Those schools on major roads need to be fenced off to stop kids running out onto the road. Fer gawd's sake, Fort St Boys on Parramatta Rd has a 40km/h zone - and this is a school for almost adult kids, not infants.

Ban all Camries around schools, they are much too dangerous!

When will people realise that in life unless you look where you are going, be it on foot, in a plane or whatever, sooner or later you will have an accident, and accidents are always going to happen. 90% of all accidents are due to human error of one kind or another, the other 10% are due to what is termed "Acts of God".

You get stung by half a dozen bees around your eyes as you are taking off and run into the back of the car infront and injure somebody. I suppose somebody will call to ban bees around schools
