Things to see in Perth?

Mrs Vlad and myself a planning a 3 - 5 day trip to Perth (all we can afford time and $ wise) in early June.

Can anyone recommend things that would be classified as "must see" :?:

I am definitely going to the Maritime Museum, and the motor museum sounds good if I can drag Mrs Vlad there. Apart from that' I'm pretty flexible.

Mrs Vlad wants to know if the zoo is any good.

Any recommendations for good restaurants, shops etc :?:

Also is there anything I defiantly should avoid ?

We may not be there for a long time, but we want it to be a good time :!:

P.S. How long is the flight to Perth from Brissie ?

Hi Vlad
Cant help with restraunts/accomadation etc.
Yes the Zoo is worth a day trip. The maratime museum in Fremantle is good, they also have a submarine a few hundred meters away in Freo harbour, but dont leave it till late in the day as chances are the tours will be booked out.
If you were really nice to us WA AULORIANS perhaps you might get a quick trip up in the hills to experience WA offroading.

It's been a good while since I've been there Vlad, but the Perth Zoo was always a world leader, well worth the visit.

Sorrento Marina offers some nice alfresco dining provided the weather holds out.
Maybe a trip to Rottnest Island once again weather dependent.
Frasers up a kings Park..(nice night time dining viewing)
generally not the best time of year..

Friday or Saturday night in Fremantle is always a good experience........plenty of different types of food on lots of different people...always interesting. There is a bit to see in the harbour area there also.

As Andy said we would be only too happy to take you for a short 4wd trip, would probably let you have a drive if as he said you behave yourself. You won't have to push though....they are Landrovers:!: :!: :!:

As far as restaurants go the Witches Cauldron in Subiaco would be a good choice

Would be nice to get together for a drink.

The flight direct from Brissie is around 5 hours........depending on the headwind

I love youse, I love youse all.

A drink sounds like a sterling idea, and if we can make it a 5 day rather than a 3 day trip I might even be able to convince SWMBO that some Land Roving is in order. However it'll probably end up that we are there during a week, rather than at the weekend. We shall see.

Keeo the ideas coming.

You never know - if I like the place I may just go back a second time.

Some of the river/wine cruises might be the go too, have some good ones at night.

Swan valley worth a visit

Chappel farm winery do nice meals reasonably priced too.

Hilight 33 is nice, as 33 floors up, revolving restaurant overlooking most of perth. Just recently changed names though and not sure of new one, taxi drivers will know.

It's a nice run from the swan valley through Bullsbrook, chittering valley, toodyay, and back to perth via the hills.

South west is great at this time of year but you are probably too pushed for time???.

Enjoy yourselves
