Clipsal 413 is the equivalent.
Hello all,
Does anyone know what type of switched power outlet this is please?. Its in the loft and works the extractor fan which is plugged into it. It has "HPM Series 37" stamped inside it but I cant find it in Bunnings or Mitre 10.
Any help gratefully received.

This is very common socket , used in false ceiling's in commercial buildings , most fluro lights plug into them . They often hang off cat wires , plumber's and anyone else who have to work between than hate . The cat wires are the closest thing to barbed wire , It's the cable ties that hold the cables and socket's , on are the problem , when they cut them off there like razer's . Some sparky's leave the ties long , that is a lot better !!.. Jim![]()
thanks Gents. Off I trot to Bunnings.

just as an aside with this particular item, as stated at the point of sale "to be installed by a licensed electrician", as an electrician I am constantly amazed that these types of fittings etc are available for sale to anyone off the street.
unfortunately I have had to repair a few "non-working" installations that have been wired up wrong.
If I wire up wrong, I am held liable for all damage/ death, how far does it go with the average handyman?
I am not having a go, but leave the electrics to the qualified.
understood.
I have tried three electricians. The first and third did not respond to mobile phone messages left and the second made an appointment to visit - didn't turn up and hasn't phoned since.

sorry to hear, too many people want to chase the bigger jobs better returns.
like everything else in life, you cant forget the smaller things, they can lead to much bigger and better.
hope you get sorted soon, if you do it yourself, make sure you can work out what goes where first, then swap over wiring one set at a time.
good luck.
