[and this is at risk to myself]

I think most ozzies still have a bit of the White Australia Policy in them somewhere,, mainly its our belief in us being ok, or in the right,, no matter what,,

    and most times,
    by george,,
    we are,,

but lately,,, maybe,, sometimes,, we're not?

I believe she should serve her sentence here, but as to whether or not she is guilty, i dont really know, the only person who knows that is her.

As for drug sentencing here in Aus its way to soft. Much harsher penalties should be introduced here to help deter people. Matt

She was tried and found guilty in Indonesia, why should she serve her sentence in Australia?

Guys, sorry but I have to drop a line in here - with caution and not wanting to recieve a heap of abuse from certain members of the forum who are anti boys in blue ....

For those of you who know me and what i do for a crust I can say this....

There is more to this than meets the eye - please believe me!

Yes 20 years in a bali gaol for this young lass is a lot.. yes the Indo's are this countrys enemy, yes she did it, and yes she has been convicted , under the Inquisiterial Justice system, as opposed to the Advocerial one we use. (scuse spelling - but cant be bothered to correct it).

For those that were watching the Judge summing up - did you notice that as the Judge was going through the findings in relation to ADMISSIONS and evidence located on the day, that the sound magically went out? and a "interpreter" employed by the media started "interpreting" , friends I think we have been sent on a half arsed goose chase by the media.

Ill say it again - there is more to this than is common knowledge - trust me when I say this. Look at the media releases recently in relation to other investigations - look at the baggage handlers situations, and the multi million dollar cocaine ring that was crushed recently in regard to airside and baggage handling. Is it reasonable to think that declaring certain things that may help Ms Corby may have rendered innefective a VERY large drug job?

Has anyone wondered why the AFP have not stepped in? trust me when I say that when you know what I I have heard in Law enforcement circles - there is good reason why.......there is one word for it - Collateral

Sometimes in an investigation you let things like this happen - it is good practice as it causes talk amongst criminals higher up the chain, proves codes that may or may not have been used, provides evidence in support of other instances of similar fact / conduct.

Guys when its all said and done I could never understand why anyone would waht to go to that hole anyhow - when our money should stay in this country, stay away from the Indo monkeys - its a crap place anyhow.... Carins and any number of places beats it hands down any day.

Guys dont get too bent up over it - as for me I dont think she was the owner of the drug - I think she has happened to take th rap for it - possession in Bali is 9/10 of the law - there is no Filipetti, or Hamze (Case law relating to exclusive possession used in OZ for habib and his brothers to get off possession charges where they manage to drop the gear before being arrested - mostly in vehicles)

If you get a chance take a good look at her when the sentence was handed down - see her palming her forehead ? gritting her teeth and clenching her eyes ? bit of body language here guys - signs of someone who has made the biggest mistake of her life - and it wasnt possessing cannabis - in my mind it was probably taking the rap for someone else - the same person who if you listened closely to the judges findings appeared to make partial admissions ....

Thats all from me - should this post prove to cause a flame war aimed at me or anyone else - I will happily delete it.

    Mick

As many of you have noticed, or may not have. I have not said much on this topic, and that is because I do not know anything about it.
Do I think she got a fair trail? No
Do I think the system over there corupt? Yes
Was she the owner of the drugs or just a "mule" I do no know.

There are many things that can be said on this case, but as I know sweet nothing, I'll keep my opion to myself.

    BTW

This is NOT a reply to any one post in particular. Just a general statement.

Cheers and have a good day
