    Help needed

    Hi guys, the call is out, I'm in need of an LT230 main housing. Does anyone have one in good condition going cheap? I haven't gotten the price from any suppliers yet, but should have something back from them soon. If I can save $ on this item I'll be very happy.

    Well, when I dropped the oils the gearbox oil looked as good as the day it was put in (30 000km's ago) and the TC was bone dry. Upon closer inspection I saw that there was a large hole chewed out of the front of the housing, this explained the absence of oil :roll: So after consideration I only removed the TC. What appears to have happened is that the stake nut had come off the intermediate shaft, this is on the outside of the box. The rear bearing let go and the shaft moved back and forth enough to chew out the holes in both the front and rear of the TC. The bearings need replacing, the intermediate shaft needs replacing and the housing needs replacing. So make of that what you will, but on the upside, I get to replace that worn input gear while I've got the TC removed

    Only pulled mine out on Saturday and pulledit down today. I'll get all the prices and stuf over the next couple of days. Probably reco it myself.
