    Today Tonight And 4wds

The anti 4wd story raised its head again on Today Tonight with their usual biased reporting towards the banning of 4wds. They need to get their facts straight. I have emailed them with my disgust and ask anyone else with a bit of spare time to do likewise to let them know the real facts and the real feeling regarding this issue.

I didnt see it but i will second everything that you just said hiline. Lets blame the 4wd cause little kiddies are so inocent and cute. Whilst as above i feel for the kids and their parents, banning 4wds isnt the answer. Matt

    on a similar note,,

there are heaps of cars run over by graders every year,,
the poor drivers just finishing his run, pulls reverse and runs over the car 6 feet behind thats followed him through the job site,,
no amount of signage stops it,

they redesigned the new graders to give a better view, but its the cars fault.

Note - they only showed 4WDs around the schools when the majority of cars are still of the sedan 2wd variety. So are they going to let Commodore Station wagons near schools but ban the 4wd versions - what a lot of crock!!

What a classy piece of journalism that was!

They cut to a school at drop off time and said "Look what our cameras saw in just half an hour outside a primary school"

Then showed a couple of 4wds double parked.

Didn't show all the sedans double parked.

    Today Tonight and 4wds

It sure was a classy bit on journalism! The 4wds didn't double park themselves, or park in NO STANDING zones SELF-CENTERED DRIVERS' DO And, after driving School Buses for 15 years in a semi-rural, coastal Sea-Change area I have seen more than my fair share of ARROGANT Parent/Drivers who are only concerned in picking up THEIR kids and to *ell with ALL others 8O ME-MY-MINE- TAKE-TAKE- TAKE

I dont know what it will take, are we ever going to be given a break. Write a letter into them complaining about kids on skateboards runing into people in shopping centres. We could make a home video, we could dress hiline up as an old woman and i could run her down on a skate board. Do you reckon that would take the emphasis of us?

Seriously though. Its no use complaining, whilst we can see reality the press have instill a sensation of fear towards 4wd in the general public. As a rule 4wds are more compact and car like than they have ever been, why the complaints now and not back in the days of the truck. Matt
