Having heard of past Qld councils and or developers, or both combined, any chance the Burnett river might lap at the front doorstep one day?

If so, any chance I could get a permit for a private jetty?

I've got a really nice old CIG stick welder that has had the earth terminal on the plug filed down so it'll fit a 10 amp outlet. (And no, I didn't do it).

Worked fine at the old place I had that only had 10 amp outlets, but works much better plugged into a 15 amp outlet at the new joint!

Hey.............. only the earth has been played with!

    cheers, DL

I've got a clisby compressor I bought new about 20years ago... I didn't file it's earth pin down 'cos I didn't want to stuff my waranty ...................................... Yeah I just replaced it with a 10amp plug so I could swap the original back on if I ever had an issue. 20years later it's had 1/2 dozen oil changes, and the filters cleaned a few dozen times..... and that's it, not even the belt tightened.

bloody good stuff those old aussie made compressors (even the electric motor is made here).

high on a hill, never been flooded. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Couple of years ago we had a big flood, council claimed it was a one in a hundred years event. Two weeks later we had another one. Fastest century I ever saw.

The description of an event as "a hundred year event" doesn't mean there will only be one of them a century.

For an explanation of why that is the case, read one of the following.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/100-year_flood
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_period
Why do 100 year events happen so often?: Australia's Record Rainfall: Rainfall Events: Design Rainfalls: Water Information: Bureau of Meteorology

    You probably knew that.
