So, I'm sitting out the back with raisin toast and a plunger coffee, reading the July issue of Land Rover Owner International and thinking I paid a ridiculous price to get the latest issue and I should have waited a month until it was replaced by the next issue before buying. Then I look at the subscriptions page and see the following overseas rates:
Print 66.50 pounds
Digital 36 pounds
Print & digital 76.50 pounds.
So, the digital edition seems the obvious choice, and would probably halve my annual spend, and I'd get it on release instead of having to wait to buy out of date mags. However, this is all good except for one thing: I still like the idea of holding a print edition in my hands. I know this is illogical and the world is going digital and I'm thinking like a dinosaur, but that's how it is.
I've been getting Pat Callinan's Unsealed 4 x 4 digital mag. and its fine, but its not the same as reading a glossily printed page.
So, youse lot, whattyourekon - print or digital?

I don't buy mags or newspapers any more, unless there's something with them that I want, like a DVD.
Much less clutter around the house and the digital versions on the iPad are more convenient.
But have had to find new ways to light the fire and wood stove in the winter months though.![]()

Generally speaking, print for magazines, didital for news etc. Part of the problem is I have a rather limited NBN ISS internet connection with very limited data quantities. OK for text and small pics, but not for video or many large pics.
But quite apart from this, I have problems holding up any device while reading in bed, and a magazine is not damaged if dropped to the floor when I go to sleep, or if I sit on it. I think of my son's family - seems between the six of them, they are either repairing or repklacing a tablet or a laptop just about every month!

I'm a dinosaur as well . So print for all the way . Just don't ask SWMBO how many there are .As none get thrown away
I'm leaning towards digital for LROI, simply because I can halve my annual spend. I shall have to make a point of saving the mags to my backup hard drive for future reference. So, maybe I'm not quite such a dinosaur after all.

I go the digital for the overseas mags so much cheaper. Prefer the paper mags when locally printed.
Also had a few issues with mags not working right, the most recent amcn is totally unreadable
