Paging Ron Beckett....

G'day Ron,
I was travelling down to your part of the world last Monday, (staying at Mulgoa) and passed a Hillman Hunter wagon travelling North on the Putty Road near East Kurrajong, ('tween Wilberforce and Colo River) I was travelling south in the trusty, filthy 130CC.

The bloke waved, and I immediately thought of you...
If it was, nice to finally meet....

cheers,

Rick.

G'day Rick,

Regrettably it wasn't me. I've been offered my old Hillman Hunter back from the young bloke who bought it off me - but my wife doesn't agree.

I might have to wait until I sell the County and the P38A (someone is interested in buying it).

You must have driven through Penrith if you went from Putty Rd to Mulgoa. You just missed me - I'm at Emu Plains.

You don't see too many Hillmans on the road any more, and for this bloke to wave to a Landy, ....well, I put two and two together and......

I try to sneak through Penrith sometimes, as I know a fair few people around the district and get in trouble for not dropping in and saying hello, have a cuppa, etc. Comes with being born, living and working there for a long time.

I hate to admit it but I'm thinking of getting out of 4WD altogether.

"Hunter" was the good part but when coupled with "Imp" ish associations the Hillman reduced the testosterone to wearing deerstalker hats, tweed jackets and pipe smoking. (or was that Rover?)

I thought the Rangie was going well Ron?

I couldn't imagine not having or being able to go offroading when I feel like it, with some sort of 4WD, though if it wern't for SWMBO I would have something quick & comfy on two wheels!

Cheers Scott.
