if you have kids
do what i did, Mum if your driving we aint going
I guess I only have myself to blame, but I bought the Disco in an auto so SWMBO could drive on the "odd occasion". Like if I'd been drinking or break a leg in the bottom of a valley somewhere. 8O
I let her do the clubs driver training day, and now I can't get her out of the drivers seat!!

130's rule
My point exactly, it may lead to me having to buy another one for myself, I knew I should have got a manual :roll:Originally posted by BigTed

That's exactly what's begun Glen. She now wants one of her own!! more money and two cars out on each trip. She's targetting a little Jimny now, so fuel costs don't come into the discussion.
At least I'll get the Disco back though.
Well Rebecca has come off road with me a couple of times, and is coming again in a couple of weeks. Mostly she enjoys it, but she doesn't like the ride, i've got very very stiff leaves, whcih provide a ride akin to a horse drawn kart without suspension.
When I can afford a defender I think she will come more often 8)
Oh, and she loves mud and puddles![]()

I wish I was that lucky but SWMBO is a snob and wont drive anything but a Land Rover, just knew I should have got a Patrol 8O
Wash my mouth out with soap
I mean a Defender, but she thinks they are sexy and I'm sure that if there was one in the driveway that she would learn to drive a manual![]()
I dont think I can win, looks like I'll just have to suck it up and get another one
Glen.
All in with us even the dogs love it we've been away including this weekend coming 14 times just this year alone, so far clocked up 11,000ks in the Disco and Kerry and Ness and the dogs love it the 4WDriving and the camping.

Trish likes off road touring and camping,
- the rough steep stuff tends to scare her..................The kids go kind of quiet too![]()

A couple of weeks ago I got her to do a basic off road course with LROCV... she did fine and we're now more comfortable that if I stuff up she is capable of getting the Disco and family back to civilisation!
I had a really interesting talk with one of the instuctors after watching her climb a loose rocky slope almost perfectly.
He reckons that often the wives can drive better - as they are not so gungho on the loud pedal......
.... seemed true for Trish and I .... She climbed up - slow but steady never looking like she would loose traction....as for me... well what can I say it's a V8 - you're meant to drive it like that aren't you :?:ops:
