Aurora Australis visible next 24-48hrs.
A geomagnetic storm will hit the Earth over the next couple of days giving rise to some colourful displays.
Already the aurora oval has moved south of the Canadian border into the US giving some fantastic displays.
If the skies are clear after dusk tonight anyone along the southern areas of Australia may see the Aurora Australis.
Tasmania should see some really good displays.
So, you camera buffs along Australia's southern coastline should get some good photos....

We almost drove down the mornington peninsula last night but the weather didn't look favourable. Maybe we'll reconsider tonight. We have a DSLR so will definitely post pics if we make it.

Just got a hot tip: Thursday night is probably a better option than tonight, although cloud and moon light could be problems....

Those pics were on the first night. I missed the first night, then none of the following nights were as good so I didn't get a chance... It will have to be next time for me...
