    It's raining in Birdsville!

I've been a bit scarce, so I thought I'd pop in and say hi. I've been frantic getting the car ready. Thankfully its coming together.. we leave Tuesday 8O 8O

Now I see it's raining in Birdsville and there is more forecast over the next couple of days. They have had half an inch overnight. I'm not sure what this will mean for us. 8O

I think its the long weekend, destined to break the drought, well not break it but you know what i mean. It's chucking it down here to.

May was actually the driest may we have had in Australia, in this area anyway, since people started recording rainfall. Not a single drop fell. Matt

Beware guys there probablly will be a lot more rain heading inland from the west. We have had our wettest start to winter over here in a while and are expecting quite a bit of rain to come over the next week, with chances being a bit of it will go inland.

Nothing bad about less dust. Hate the stuff, it gets in everywhere. Matt

I'd say it would close some of the local roads for a day or so, and then depending on whether they get more rain.

As well as the BOM site keep your eye on these

    http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/quicklinks/...roads/area1.asp

    and

    http://www.racq.com.au/cps/rde/xchg/SID-34...55_ENA_HTML.htm

Birdsville developmental road (Diamantina River east of Birdsville - Closed to ALL vehicles) and Eyre Developmental Road between Bedourie and Birdsville is closed to ALL vehicles.

Good luck - you may need it
