    Puma insurance agreed value

Just wondering if anyone has done it. Last time I tried Shannon's told no because it's under 5 years old and was not available.

From my perspective it's on the verge of extinction, or basically achieved collectors status, so now I am a proper enthusiast. Not sure is that washes with insurances companies however.
So does anyone have agreed value a Tdci, and who with. If you don't mind, could you also indicate what are you paying for how much value.

    thanks

I tried the RACQ and they only wanted to insure my brand new Defender for 42,000!!!!! I told them that nobody in Aus is selling them for that price, they were prepared to do an agreed value, but it was really expensive. I went back to my normal insurance company which is aami. They asked what the car cost me in total with all the accessories and I told them 57,000 and they insured the cor for that. The total cost for fully comp was 650 something .

Thanks, I am with RACQ with a stand alone policy these days. Im up for renewal but its currently at market value which I havent asked what that is yet. I'd guess $35Kish. Costs $770 with 20K of accessories. I know from previous experiance accessories are only paind out 50%, and thats probably less than 3 or 5 years old. If circumstances allow some will let you take accessories off then pay out on a bare bones car, but depends on where, and what has happened. Just shopping around as they seem to wright stuff off so easy these days.

Yes the RACQ quoted me well over 700 too, which is very expensive.

    Hi Newhue,

You could try Lumley's: Classic Car Insurance for car enthusiasts and owners of classic and vintage cars - Lumley Special Vehicles

I had the 80" insured with them & they seemed vey good. I will probably be going back to them for the 90" Heritage as Shannons with whom I have 6 vehicles insured won't offer salvage rights. Not sure that Lumleys will either but it is worth a try as modern classics are supposed to be 10 years old, but I believe that with the publicity & the 1948 to 2015 life of the Defender according to all the spiel that they may be worth a try.

AAMI have quoted me $760 odd per annum for $61K value on a 110. Just about covers it with the extras from factory. When I pick it up I'll take it. This is a lower premium from them than what I currently pay the to insure my 2005 Maxima for $8K. Go figure.
