I planted an acorn last 11.11.
It came up and is doing well. I'm just about to go over and give it a drink and a feed. I'm hoping for big things from it, in say, 100 years time.
cheers,
D
If you need to stop somewhere either going there or back, you know where we will be. :)
I dropped the van off there yesterday on the way down bringing Mum back home, I'll be back at the van tonight and cleaning up the campsite and stacking wood ready for Christmas. :)
My father planted one next to the house about sixty-five years ago. I can remember him nursing it through dry summers. The house is long gone, and it is now an industrial area, but the tree is still there. (33.774624S, 151.009038E) So is the palm tree that was in front of the house - it dates to the 1920s.

We have an oak tree growing next to our house. It is 60 y old and going strong. We have some little seedlings coming up around it. This happens every year and I mow them off.
