I might be going farther than you think if I get by car fixed soon enough but not if I have to borrow her car.
I think elected government officials of all levels, local, state, federal, should be paid via a quota, rather than a monthly salary, based on km's of road, rail, built in their area, with bonuses for bridges, dams, etc.

REX Airlines is going to be taken over by America's Air T. I for one hope it is going to be called T-rex...Rex Airlines saved as creditors vote for Air T takeover - ABC News.
Last time I flew Rex, it rattled and vibrated more than a misfiring Perentie that had lost count of how many laps of the odo had been achieved. :o
Flew Rex home from Brissy, and again when you came to pick me up at Eagle Farm, or wherever it is now. I thought they were excellent, but of course this was a major route, and the aircraft were quite new, it seemed, but what would I know. 737 probably.
Before then I had no idea they actually flew the route. They were cheap, and the coffee was at least drinkable. What more could I ask of a domestic?
T-Rex??

Uhmmm! That route, that fare and that aircraft are exactly why they are in the hands of a receiver!
One of the things that the traveling public generally has no idea of, is that by and large, the airline industry is not profitable, at best, marginal. If they are profitable, it is on the basis of explicit or indirect protection - which might be restrictions on carriage on routes, restrictions on slots in busy airports, agreements with airport owners who may have lowered the fees they need to charge to maintain the airfield, giving exclusive access in return for a guarantee that flights will happen etc.
As demonstrated by what happened to Rex, when they tried to muscle in on trunk routes. Just the overhead required to meet the regulations means that small scale is not feasible.
Maybe they should have flown into Avalon. But then I wouldn’t have used them.
Reminds me of a funny story my mate had to do job at some outback/regional town, his company said not to worry as he wouldn't have to drive as they'd booked him on plane, he thought this was great would be a short flight, unfortunately the plane stopped at several little towns along the way, took ages and was uncomfortable with all the take offs and landings.
