My preferred method is to put right foot on side step/rock slider, right hand grabs corner of dash near windscreen. diving in headfirst. landing left elbow on cubby box, whilst hitching wallet up in pocket (so as not to sit on it) with now free right hand. To exit: Slide bum forward on seat, swing both legs out and slide to ground. This avoids the need fork out for non pant ripping door latches.
    Cheers, Billy.

The same method I use to embark in my S2A with folding Sidestep. Not sure about the Wallet though.

Whoever said "Life is a big Leap" or "Life is a bit of a launch" must have owned a S2A. Or was it the bloke who went to the moon?

I have had to train several people about how to get into our Defender. People try to pull themselves in with their arms, for getting that their legs are stronger than their arms.
I train them to stand facing forwards, put the foot closest to the sidestep up on the sidestep, grab the handle, push down with that leg and swing up and around with their bum.
BTW I agree with the bit about the wallet being a problem when sat on. A psyiotherapist told me sitting on a fat wallet is a factor in a lot of back pain in men. That reminds me, I need to empty some crap out of mine.

I used to have a wallet once.
I kept my money in it.
Then I bought a Land Rover and didn't need it anymore.

Once you have treated a bad case of the crabs you will always remember the smell of the ointment.
And the filthy girl that gave them to you.

I can't get rid of mine, as I'm only over 6 foot tall if I stand on my wallet.

It's the angle at which the passenger took the photo.
    Isn't that right, Gav.
